WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
We strongly encourage booking as early in your vacation as possible, as we are a weather-dependent business and like to leave room for possible reschedules! Easy breezy!
IS PARASAILING SCARY?
No way! Parasailing is fantastic. Our expert captains will gently lift and land you on the back deck of our top-of-the-line Ocean Pros, so all you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Outer Banks.
IS PARASAILING SAFE?
Absolutely. Duck Parasail is proud to highlight their firm stance on safety and professionalism, using every last piece of safety equipment available to us. Our company flies a chute-wrangler, utilizes a para-snail, and a tool industry professionals call “the help.” These are just a few of the tools that should be on board every operational parasail vessel to aid in the event of an (unlikely) water-landing. Beyond this, our captain and crew are well-trained by WSIA weather and equipment standards and are all CPR & First Aid Certified, avid watermen (and women!)

HOW LONG IS THE BOAT RIDE?
From start to finish, your parasail experience will be about an hour or so long, spent with the best crew on the beach! Professional, friendly, and parasail-obsessed, your time on board is guaranteed to be one you won’t forget.
WILL I GET WET?
This is totally up to you! Our captains can keep you dry or let you in for a little dip—you just let us know what you’d like and we’ve got you covered!
WHO CAN FLY?
Anyone can fly or ride along as long as you can properly fit into our USCG life jackets and inspected parasail harnesses.
HOW LONG AM I IN THE AIR?
You will be gliding peacefully above the Currituck Sound for about 10-12 minutes!
CAN I RIDE ALONG AS AN OBSERVER?
We welcome observers on a space available basis
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Feel free to wear your best beach gear—or whatever you want, really—no worries here! You will be asked to remove your shoes before boarding, so we suggest wearing something simple like flip flops—we live in them!
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
We recommend bringing your sunscreen, sun glasses, and bottled water. Cameras and phones are permitted, at your own risk.
WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?
Here on the Outer Banks, we know the weather can change from minute to minute and we will therefore happily reschedule you if our captain feels the conditions are not perfect for you and your loved ones. With our new online booking system, it is easier than ever to reschedule, so as to keep your excursion as safe and picturesque as possible.
CAN I BUY PHOTOS?
Absolutely. Our photo package is the most popular way to capture lasting memories.
CAN I BRING MY OWN CAMERA?
Totally, but at your own risk. While our captain and crew might be able to monkey around a moving vessel with a pricy piece of equipment in hand, we don’t entirely “suggest” it for our customers. Sit back, relax, and let US do the work—you’re on vacation!
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
Duck & Corolla Parasail is open seven days a week, with boats leaving from 9AM-6PM and even earlier and later during our high-season.
WHAT KIND OF BOATS DO YOU RUN?
Duck & Corolla Parasail is proud to run 31’ CWS Ocean Pros only. These top-of-the-line vessels were designed specifically for parasailing and ensure a safe, dry, and smooth ride around the Sound (you might call it a “Bay”). Our beautiful boats seat 12 passengers. All of our vessels are USCG inspected annually and here at Duck Parasail, we like to keep it simple when we say: if it ain’t an Ocean Pro, don’t go!
HOW CAN I PAY?
We accept cash, debit cards, Visa, and MasterCard. You can either pay upon signing up at one of our booth, or you can prepay online when you book! So simple!
IS IT CUSTOMARY TO TIP YOUR CREW?
As with any service industry, it is customary to tip your crew—after all, they are working very long, often very hard hours (in the very hot sun) to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime! If you enjoy your trip—and you totally will—it is customary to show your crew with a standard 20% gratuity that is much appreciated.

Great experience! Easy to plan ahead and book reservation via website. All info we needed to know was sent in confirmation email. Bathroom to use onsite upon arrival. Punctual start and end time. Professional and friendly experience, felt safe and would definitely recommend!!
Just a great experience over all! This was my first time parasailing so I was a bit nervous. The two guys that took us out explained everything that was going on and what would be happening. We had booked a 5 pm time frame and a storm was going to be happening then so we were able to change our time frame with no problems. Loved it
Well, we accomplished our first ever parasailing as a family (except for my wife). Of course we did all of the research to find a reputable parasailing company and Corolla Parasailing did not disappoint.
The most they will take is 10, plus observers. My wife did not parasail, but for $25, was able to be on the boat and watch everyone and get good pictures.
You are strapped in like sitting in a swing and go off the back of the boat. There are two guys on the boat driving and taking care of the parasailers. These two were outstanding and paid great attention to detail. In fact, due to the high winds, my son and I were the last two to parasail for at least part of the day as they would not take the risk of sending others up (we were the last 2 in our group, so all 10 were still able to go).
Recommend to wear a swimsuit and tshirt since you may get wet on the boat rides. Also, the guys on the boat make their money off tips. If you don't tip in the website when you since up, bring some cash.
