Life is Short, so grab your family and head to the beach! This home is perfect for smaller families and is located close to the community amenities, restaurants, shops and just a short drive to the beach! 

Ground Level: Outside you will find an open air courtyard/ patio with brick walls for privacy with outdoor seating and a gas grill. Outside your gate is a large green space (common area) perfect for yard games!  Inside you'll find the great room with flat-screen TV, wood-burning fireplace and patio access. Newly updated kitchen, dining table seating 6, half bath and laundry area with washer and dryer.

Top Level: King Master Bedroom with flat-screen TV and newly updated private bathroom and a Master Bedroom with Queen Bed, Bunk Set, flat-screen TV, private deck and private bathroom.

Extras: 3 flat-screen TVs, high speed internet, wood-burning fireplace, patio, gas grill, high chair, pack-n-play, Keurig, washer/dryer, linens and towels provided, parking for 2 cars and 2 passes to the Community Amenities (pool, tennis court and basketball hoop). Linens and towels provided at no additional cost. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of sleep sofas, top bunks and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

This property does not offer beach chairs or an outside shower. 

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. You will receive an email 24 hours after booking with instructions to log on to guest web to electronically sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment. You will have 10 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance payment to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

Origin of the Name

The origin of the name Kitty Hawk is still a matter of local debate but most people agree that it’s a Native American name for this area meaning “a time or place to hunt geese.” The word originally appeared on English settlers maps in the early 1700’s as “Chickehawk” or “Chickahawk”. By the late 1700’s, old land deeds referred to these settlements as “Kittyhuk”, “Kittyhark”, “KittyHawk” and “Kitty Hawk”, which is how the local residents spell the name as we do today.

Most Hospitable People

When Orville and Wilbur Wright were looking for a site for their aviation experiments in 1900, a Kitty Hawk citizen, Mr. Tate, assured the Wrights in a letter that Kitty Hawk would provide the ideal location for their experiment. He also encouraged Wilbur: “If you decide to try your machine here and come, I will take pleasure in doing all I can for your convenience, success, pleasure and I assure you that you will find hospitable people when you come among us.” This tradition still lives on today in Kitty Hawk.
