One of the northern-most communities on the Outer Banks, Duck offers some of the last remaining unspoiled beachfront on the Eastern seaboard. Both the Atlantic Ocean and the sound present impressive water-sport opportunities. The resort has many amenities, including sailboats, windsurfers, and rafts. When it's time for a change from the oceanfront, you can swim in the outdoor or indoor pools, play a set of tennis, or just relax in the whirlpool, sauna, or steam room.

Kitty Hawk is home to this resort. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Kitty Hawk Woods Reserve, while Glazin' Go-Nuts and Wright Brothers National Memorial are cultural highlights. Nor'Banks Sailing and Children at Play Museum are also worth visiting.

Cost saving strategies:

June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Kitty Hawk area. To book the largest rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Kitty Hawk attractions.
Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
