Our top Kitty Hawk vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best vacation home in Kitty Hawk:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanside, in Duck! Hot Tub. Dog Friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
