Unwind and appreciate spectacular soundfront sunsets from your own private dock and a 5-min. walk to the beach at this soundfront home in the Sanderling community located on the north end of Duck. The attractions of both Duck Village and Corolla are just a few min.'s drive. This bungalow is an getaway and ideal base for you Outer Banks adventures. Striking waterfront vistas and fun abound in this bright, open, four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home complete with a kayak, bicycles, and beach gear.

The second-floor entry level features all 4 bedrooms - one queen bedroom, one bedroom with two twin beds, one bedroom with a single over double size bunk bed, and the master suite. There is a shared full bath on this level as well. The master suite has striking sound vistas, direct access to the second-level deck, and an en-suite full bathroom with a jetted whirlpool tub and shower.

The third level of the home features the living areas - a completely equipped kitchen, dining area with seating for six at the enormous dining room table with an additional two seats at the bar, a huge, comfortable living room, and deck access with 180-degree sound vistas.

The Sanderling Community

Behind the “Sanderling” entrance sign is a nature path that leads to a dock for launching a kayak, canoe or SUP on to the Currituck Sound. You may also bring along a fishing pole. You’ll see a variety of native bird species, seasonal nesting ospreys as well as lavish sunsets. Sanderling is really a sound to sea community.

Sanderling also has a series of nature paths that meander throughout our community where you may walk, bird watch and observe the handsome landscape that is uniquely Sanderling.

*Please note that we are not members of the Sanderling Swim and Racquet Club.

*We DO NOT have a hot tub! There is a glitch in Vacation Rental By Owner that keeps adding hot tubs to properties automatically.

*Parking is limited and the driveway is partially shared with the neighboring home. We have room for 3 cars max.. .Do not use any part of the driveway that is not directly in front of our home.

*There is a Ring security camera doorbell monitoring the main entrance to the home..

About the Area

Kitty Hawk is home to this vacation home. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Kitty Hawk Woods Reserve, while Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education and Whalehead are cultural highlights. Nor'Banks Sailing and Corolla Raceway are also worth visiting.

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Kitty Hawk area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Kitty Hawk. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Have a wonderful stay:

  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review.
