Tips to get the best Kitty Hawk rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Kitty Hawk rental home:
- In the Kitty Hawk area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Kitty Hawk area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Handicap Entrance -one level-Ships Watch, Duck NC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Kitty Hawk destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
