Strategies for getting the best Kitty Hawk vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Kitty Hawk vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Finding the best rental:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beachside-Ocean views & Great beach access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
