Tips to get the best Kitty Hawk vacation home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Kitty Hawk area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Venus Studio: Hottub, King Bed, Kayak, Bikes, SUP, has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
