Come appreciate your stay in our Historic "Beach Box" across the street from the beach. This 2 bedroom 1 bath bungalow is just steps away from a very exclusive and impressive beach. We have central heat/air, washer/dryer, High Speed Wifi, Intelligent 65" TV and plenty of off street parking.
We are up and running and are available throughout the off season with new low offseason prices. Longer term stays are available.
Our handsome little bungalow is completely furnished and outfitted. It features two queen pillow top beds and two twins. We have a full size kitchen with all that's needed to prepare a full Christmas Dinner!
We hope you will adore the original wood plank walls and ceilings. This is the way they constructed these original cottages years ago. Even the cabinets are constructed from the same wood and by the same carpenters. A very Historic Outer Banks Beach Cottage. This beach bungalow can be described as Rustic. We are making improvements to our new addition and you may notice a few minor imperfections. We hope you will appreciate the marvelous location as we are focused on providing a clean and comfortable respite for you and your family.
Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 85 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its appeal as an older beach bungalow. But even so, we hope that you will appreciate our older and appealing home.

Tips and Tricks to get the very best Kitty Hawk vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Kitty Hawk area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Pirate's Lair has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
