Booking the best Kitty Hawk vacation home experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • To find the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Kitty Hawk restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Relax and unwind in this beachfront paradise has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Kitty Hawk beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
