Come appreciate your stay in our Historic "Beach Box" across the street from the beach. This 2 bedroom 1 bath bungalow is just steps away from a very exclusive and beautiful beach. We have central heat/air, washer/dryer, High Speed Wifi, Intelligent 65" TV and plenty of off street parking.
Our beautful little bungalow features two queen pillow top beds and two twin pillow tops. We have a full size kitchen with all that's needed to prepare a full dinner!
We hope you will appreciate the original wood plank walls and ceilings. This is the way they constructed these original cottages years ago. Even the cabinets are constructed from the same wood and by the same carpenters. A very Historic Outer Banks Beach Cottage. This beach bungalow can be described as Rustic. We are making improvements to our new addition and you may notice a few minor imperfections. We hope you will appreciate the awesome location as we are focused on providing a clean and comfortable respite for you and your family.
Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 75 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its appeal as an older beach bungalow. But even so, we hope that you will adore our older and striking home.

How to find the best Kitty Hawk vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your group select dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Calico Jack's Galley has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kitty Hawk rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
