About this Property

  • 1 Bathrooms
  • Cottage
  • Approximately 1350 square feet

Come appreciate your stay in our Historic "Beach Box" across the street from the beach. This 2 bedroom 1 bath bungalow is just steps away from a very exclusive and gorgeous beach. We have central heat/air, washer/dryer, High Speed Wifi, Intelligent 65" TV and plenty of off street parking.

Our beautful little bungalow features two queen pillow top beds and two twin pillow tops. We have a full size kitchen with all that's needed to prepare a full dinner!

We hope you will appreciate the original wood plank walls and ceilings. This is the way they constructed these original cottages years ago. Even the cabinets are constructed from the same wood and by the same carpenters. A very Historic Outer Banks Beach Cottage. This beach bungalow can be described as Rustic. We are making improvements to our new addition and you may notice a few minor imperfections. We hope you will adore the astounding location as we are focused on providing a clean and comfortable respite for you and your family.

Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 75 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its appeal as an older beach bungalow. But even so, we hope that you will appreciate our older and appealing home.

Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Kitty Hawk vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Kitty Hawk. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Kitty Hawk restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Kitty Hawk area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the bestrental home:

  • To start, have your family choose trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Calico Jack's Galley has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Kitty Hawk destination you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
