Strategies to get the perfect Kitty Hawk rental experience:
When to book a Kitty Hawk rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Kitty Hawk area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- 650 ft. to the beach
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
