Tips for getting the best Kitty Hawk vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Kitty Hawk. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Kitty Hawk area:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Nestled in live oaks trees, 3 min walk to sound, contemporary beachside cottage has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kitty Hawk rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Kitty Hawk attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
