Tips and Tricks to get the best Kitty Hawk vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Kitty Hawk area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. KH3964- Spectacular Home! 6 BRs, Pool Table, Gym, Private Pool, Views! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
