Kitty Hawk rental booking tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- In the Kitty Hawk area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- To get the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Kitty Hawk area:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. OBX ~ Ocean Views ~ Private Pool ~ Golf Course ~ has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
