Strategies for getting the best Kitty Hawk vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Kitty Hawk area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Kitty Hawk:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. A Family beach house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kitty Hawk rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
